'William Mattias': Redcap

Personality: Cool headed and fiercely loyal to The White Lady. He considers her to be almost deified and will fight to the death if she orders him to. He does not fight without reason or without orders. Primarily, he fights when he needs blood to replenish his strength.

Abilities: Redcap's skin becomes superhumanly (cumulatively) hard, tough, and strong when it comes into contact with the blood of a defeated opponent. His strength thus far has topped out at around Colossus-level strength and durability, but he needs blood from several opponents to achieve that height. It must be blood he personally has drawn in combat. The strength lasts up to three days, then he must fight and win to keep his strength up.

Skills: The basic assassin skill set: stealth, knife skills, small arms, and tracking.

He also carries an enchanted iron mace which, when he strikes an opponent with it, can duplicate that opponent's powerset if he chooses to do so. It can only hold one borrowed set at a time, although he can change it at any time during a battle. The borrowed powers are only available to him while he carries the mace.

History: Redcap is unsure of his actual birthplace or birth name. As a small child, he was given to the same cult of Kali who raised and trained Camille. Male children were seen as less desirable to the cult than females, so he was taught to serve the sisters of the cult. At thirteen, when his unusual powers manifested, he began training as an assassin for the order.

At nineteen, fully trained and fully dedicated to Kali, he was introduced to fourteen year old Camille who would become his charge and his name was changed to 'William Mattias' to pose as her brother. Her destiny, he was told, was to travel to far away lands and defeat known enemies of Kali and he was to be one of her weapons. She is his world and he will go to any length to protect her.

Cover story: William Mattias is the owner and operator of the "5 For" gym in San Francisco, California. The gym is open 24 hours and William is often on site to train and spar (only for the adventurous and brave). There is a part-time manager on staff for when he or Brian are not available.

The gym is two stories and boasts two boxing rings with punching and speed bags on the first floor, as well as a locker room and pool. A workout room with traditional gym equipment and a weight room, as well as a steam room/sauna upstairs.

William lives with his sister in the apartment above her bookstore.

Gordon Dahl: Mischief

Name: Gordon Dahl
Codename: Mischief
Age: 27

Personality: Furtive and paranoid, Gordon prefers moving at night and avoids people where at all possible. He prefers the company of rats to people. His teammates are the only exceptions, as they accept him without fear or disgust. He is often dirty and disheveled. He does what he has to in order to survive and to protect his pack.

Abilities: Rat affinity: Can summon and control any and all non-domesticated rats (not mice) in an area approximately the size of three city blocks. The rats will follow his commands and can be used in waves to attack or defend from an enemy. The longer Gordon is present in an area, the more vicious and feral the rat population becomes. They are also more likely to spread diseases and he can use individual rats to gather information or perform small tasks for him.

Plague bearer: When he is injured, Gordon's blood releases an airborne disease into his immediate area (approximately a 100 foot radius from his body) which, if contracted will induce immediate flu-like symptoms such as dizziness, nausea and vomiting, fever, and chills. In those with weakened immune systems or in direct contact with the infected blood, the disease can be fatal. He displays no symptoms.

History: Gordon was never quite right in the head, or so his parents declared. From a young age, Gordon began withdrawing from human contact and spent most of his time in the barn with the rats that fed on the grain stored inside. His father thought he was simply lazy and took it upon himself to beat the laziness out of the boy. The beatings only served to drive Gordon farther from human society and then, the year he turned sixteen, a particularly violent encounter with his father left Gordon bleeding from a head wound. A day later, his parents and his young brother were all dead from a mysterious illness that the town physician could not explain.

Gordon spent two years in and out of foster homes where he never quite fit in. His case file listed him as 'damaged', although whether it had been from the trauma of his family's deaths or the violent upbringing, no one could say. When he turned eighteen and was released from the system, he found himself living on (and sometimes under) the streets where his preferred companions lived.

Cover story: None. He does not socialize and is rarely seen during the day. He lives on the streets in the same area as Shae's apartment. Camille contacts him through his rats.
